New Zealand Post confirmed on Tuesday that Newtown will lose its standalone PostShop, but has assured residents they will still have access to postal services. Amanda Barber, who started a petition to save the shop that gathered more than 7000 signatures, said New Zealand Post was "really hitting Newtown hard". GOOGLE STREET VIEW New Zealand Post is closing its Riddiford St Postshop in Newtown, Wellington in mid-June. NZ Post head of retail Mark Yagmich said two franchisees, Newtown Unichem and Ashleigh Court Pharmacy, will offer postal services to Newtown once PostShop operations were wound up.
