— Roddy Peters scored 32 points — 14 in the final 4:21 — and his free throw with two seconds left helped Nicholls to a 73-70 win over upset-minded Northwestern State on Wednesday night. The win gives Nicholls a double bye in the Southland Conference Tournament. Ishmael Lane’s 3 with 2:03 left gave Northwestern State (4-24, 1-16) its last lead of the game, 68-66, with 2:03 left. Peters made a pair of layups and 3 of 4 free throws in the final 1:44. Lane and Perry each scored 16 and Larry Owens scored 10 for the Demons.
