Paul Soumalias was just a child when he first felt immensely proud of his father. Between 1998 and 2012, Soumalias would lose sleep during the weeks leading up to every Canadian Walk of Fame ceremony. At the time, Soumalias’s efforts to establish a walk of fame for Canadians was seen as a bold move. And when it came to establishing Canada’s Walk of Fame, Soumalias needed to network relentlessly. But, as Quill wrote in 2000, the Walk of Fame soon evolved into a genuine source of pride for the city.
