Newcastle United officials are to meet Peter Beardsley today to discuss allegations of racial abuse and bullying that have been levelled against the club’s academy under-23 manager. Beardsley is under investigation by the club after Yasin Ben El-Mhanni, 22, the winger, accused the former England forward of bullying. The Daily Mail has reported that a number of Newcastle’s African players have made allegations of racial abuse against Beardsley, 56. He will be represented by the PFA at his meeting with Lee Charnley, the chief executive, and Steve Swinyard, the head of safeguarding. Newcastle declined to comment last night.
