More than 24,000 attempts were made to visit pornographic websites from computers in parliament in the months after the general election. It represents 160 requests per day on average from devices connected to the parliamentary network used by MPs, peers and staff between June to October. The data, released after a freedom of information request by the Press Association, showed attempts spiking in September, with 9,467 requests. However, it also showed a sharp decrease in attempts to view pornographic websites. In 2016, the parliamentary filtering system blocked 113,208 attempts, down from 213,020 the previous year.
