The cause of the fire in a garage in Woolston, Christchurch, is being investigated. A person has been taken to hospital in a serious condition after a fire in a garage in suburban Christchurch. A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said it was reported as a mattress fire in a garage. Two crews from Woolston and Christchurch Central stations attended. A St John spokesman confirmed one person was taken to Christchurch Hospital in a serious condition.
