Stormy weather in Northland, Auckland and Coromandel has led to trees falling on roads, heavy rain and small power outages overnight Sunday. Metservice’s weather warnings for the area continue on Monday, as people wrap-up a miserable Queen’s Birthday long weekend. Northland is under heavy rain warnings until 6pm Monday, expecting a further 50 to 80 mm of rain, while the strong wind warning continues until 11 am Tuesday. In Coromandel, a heavy rain warning is in place until 11 am Tuesday with another 60 to 80 mm of rain forecast, and a strong wind watch is set to continue until 5pm Tuesday. Aucklanders are being warned to watch for heavy rain until 12 pm Tuesday, and strong winds until 2pm Tuesday.
