Desperate home buyers are being left in tears as a shortage of listings and out-of-town buyers create a “perfect storm”, a local real estate agent says. The June report found there was a “dire shortage of houses for sale”, with 33.3 per cent fewer houses listed nationally. Nelson experienced the worst drop, at 57.9 per cent, with only 173 houses for sale in June, compared to 411 a year ago.
