People's Party unveils B15bn Hat Yai flood planPeople's Party (PP) leader and prime ministerial candidate Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut on Tuesday unveiled a plan to invest 15 billion baht over four years to strengthen Hat Yai's flood prevention system. The proposal was announced at a PP campaign rally in Hat Yai district, Songkhla, attended by deputy party leader Rangsiman Rome, party spokesman Parit Wacharasindhu and deputy spokeswoman Pukkamon Nunarnan. Mr Natthaphong said the upcoming election would determine the future of Hat Yai and the country as a whole. Recalling his visit to flood-hit areas in Hat Yai last year, he said the devastation reflected the shared suffering of local residents and people nationwide. Without a serious plan to prevent future flooding, they warned Hat Yai would struggle to grow and could face continued stagnation or decline.
