Pensioner faces long walk after sudden post box closureSCOTT HAMMOND/FAIRFAX NZ Bill Cox thinks NZ Post should either repair or replace the damaged post box on Scott St.A Blenheim pensioner is "damned annoyed" the post box at the end of his street has closed permanently after being hit by a car. Cox said there was no reason to close the post box as it had no visible signs of damage. The post box, on the corner of Muller Rd and Scott St, was outside the Tip Top Store. Manager Sukhjinder Singh said a lot of older customers still used the post box. "NZ Post complains about a drop-off in mail but do everything to discourage people from sending out their post," he said.
