Photo: Luisa GiraoNational candidate Penny Simmonds is ahead with 100% of the vote counted in Invercargill but the race is so tight she is not ready to declare victory until the specials are counted. With 100% of the non-special votes counted Penny Simmonds (16,32) is ahead of Labour candidate Liz Craig (15,687) by 685 votes. She told the Otago Daily Times given the closeness of the night she was not prepared to declare victory. in 2017 Ms Craig was comfortably beaten by then National candidate by 18,102 votes to 12,523.
