GEORGE TOWN: The Penang government has been told to set aside politics and work with the Federal government to solve the state's chronic flood woes. He also suggested that 10 per cent of the proposed RM40 billion allocation for the Penang Transport Master Plan (PTMP) initiative is channeled towards flood mitigation projects. The state government should play its part and not put the burden of the 13 projects on the Federal goverment. "So, it is better for the state government to put some money towards flood mitigation projects. Zainal said, following Najib's announcement, they had set up a special committee to ascertain the top priority for the 13 projects outlined.
