GEORGE TOWN: The state Public Works Department has dismissed claims that stone debris found below the Bayan Lepas elevated highway were due to "structural cracks". "We are repairing an expansion joint on the elevated highway. Part of the road was closed from 10am on Saturday and was reopened by 3am on Sunday," said its director Ahmad Redza Ghulam Rasool. This 3.5km elevated highway was completed in 2005. Netizens have been advised to first verify the authenticity of any information before spreading it on social media.
