GEORGE TOWN: The state government announced a RM400 payoff to those affected by the floods last week. Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng (pic) said the money would be given on a "one-off" payment basis to families or individuals affected by the floods on Friday. He stressed that the payment was not a precedent but a one-off payment following the "unusually" heavy rains. "The state government will continue to carry out its duty and responsibility to face this serious flood issue," he said.
