An ongoing battle over Cave Rock Apartments overlooking Christchurch's Sumner Beach could be drawing to an end after a judge has ruled the land can be sold. Cave Rock Apartments owners first fought their insurance company over their earthquake-damaged Sumner homes, then fought among themselves on how to split the payout. The property included 49 apartments and underground car park, plus the Cave Rock Tavern. In the High Court last week, Justice John Gendall ruled in favour of the body corporate after it sued dissenting owner VXJ Holdings to resolve the impasse.
