Motorists booked for traffic offences through the speed detection cameras installed on roads across the State should remit the penalty by March 31. Notices have been forwarded to the registered owner of the vehicles that flouted the rules from the Hi-tech Traffic Enforcement Control Room in the capital. Those not remitting the fine before March 31 will have to face cancellation of the registration of vehicles and suspension of driving licence. The Traffic and Road Safety Management Wing had approached the Motor Vehicles Department to initiate legal steps against the erring motorists from April 1. The fine can be remitted online, through Akshaya centres, and collection centres of the traffic enforcement wings.
