Ontario Progressive Conservative leader Patrick Brown says he “was mistaken” on the new sex ed curriculum after newly released emails reveal he promised to repeal it during his party’s leadership race. The sex ed portions of that document, which mandate teaching anatomy to kids in grade 1 and which include limited references to gender identity and anal sex, have been controversial. The April 2015 emails to Fonseca tell another story: “I will repeal it! He said Brown “did a lot of organizing” based on sex ed opposition, and that many who supported the PC leader now feel betrayed. They were quick to use the by-election sex ed gaffe as the basis for a fundraising appeal.
