Following the news of Alexis Arquette’s death on Sunday, the actor’s family released a touching official statement on Facebook. Penned by Alexis’ sister, fellow actor Patricia Arquette, and shared on behalf of the family on brother Richmond’s Facebook page, the statement calls Alexis “a brilliant artist and painter, a singer, an entertainer and an actor.”“Despite the fact that there are few parts for trans actors, she refused to play roles that were demeaning or stereotypical,” it reads. “Alexis was born as Robert, our brother. But he came in as more than a sibling — he came as our great teacher,” the statement reads. “As Alexis transitioned into being a woman, she taught us tolerance and acceptance.
