An explosion on a London Underground train this morning that sent a “huge” fireball through a packed carriage is being treated as a terrorist related incident, police said. Passengers on the District Line train fled in terror after a container in a plastic Lidl shopping bag appeared to explode near a train door, sending a fireball through the carriage. Police officers on the scene at Parsons Green, southwest London, have told people that it was a terrorist attack. However, a spokeswoman for the Metropolitan police said that further reports of a man with a knife on the scene were not true.
