The passenger transfer services tender at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport was within the law, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has said, clearing the former management team of corruption claims. In a December 2 gazette notice, the Commission said investigations established that the Kenya Airports Authority had a need to procure an apron bus service and “conducted the subject procurement process within the applicable law." It said the process was done under the repealed Public Procurement and Disposal Act, 2005 and “there was no evidence of excessive monthly service charges as alleged.”A report was compiled and forwarded to the DPP on August 15, recommending the file be closed with no further action, the EACC said in the notice. “On October12, the DPP accepted the recommendation for closure of the inquiry file.”
