Participants prepare for NZ Gymsports Championships at Southland eventJOHN HAWKINS/FAIRFAX NZThe Southland Gymsports Championships were held at Stadium Southland in Invercargill recently. The two-day event provided participants from Southland and around the country with opportunities to gain valuable preparation at the same venue as the 2016 New Zealand Gymsports Championships will be held in September. Aeroskools Level 4 winners included the Invercargill Gymnastics Club in both the 9-11 years and 12-14 year age groups. The Invercargill trio claimed the ADP4 title, while Mikayla Mortimer won Open Level 1 and Isobel Andrews took out the Open Level 2 competition with 15.28 points. Invercargill also won the Open Level 3 section with Lillian McCreath scoring 15.73.
