A group of actors dressed as air hostesses and stewards descended upon Metros and RERs in Paris on Monday in a bid to raise awareness about public transport safety. The hostesses held talks similar to airplane safety demonstrations to show passengers how dangerous daily accidents on public transport can be, but also how easy it is to prevent them. Commuters were also handed out safety information cards by the hostesses and stewards, similar to those found in the seat pockets of an airplane. According to RATP and publicity group Havas Paris, who are behind the campaign, one serious accident happens on public transport every day simply due to passengers not paying enough attention.
