SHAH ALAM: The family of Malaysian civil engineer Richard Lau has been pining for his safe return following his detention in Dubai for the past eight months. His sister Lau Yii Hung said their parents were miserable when they could not celebrate Richard’s birthday, which falls on Nov 16, together like they always did. He was only getting paid for doing his job,” Yii Hung said. He told us that his request for books to read at the Ras Al Khaimah central prison was denied.
