A parapenter has been taken to Dunedin Hospital after sustaining "critical injuries" hitting a hill near Lake Wanaka today. Otago Regional Rescue Helicopter pilot Graham Gale said the helicopter service was called late this morning, and told the man had "impacted the hill". The man was "winched" off the hill and flown to Dunedin Hospital. A St John spokeswoman said St John were first called about 10am, and a patient with "critical injuries" was transported to hospital. A Dunedin Hospital nurse manager said the hospital could not give an update as to his status this afternoon.
