KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has revived a friendship committee/caucus, the membership of which transcends race, religion and political affiliation, to coordinate efforts in supporting the Palestinian cause. Dewan Rakyat speaker Tan Sri Mohammad Ariff Md Yusoff said the Palestine-Malaysia friendship committee/caucus that was formed two years ago, will work closely with the League of Parliamentarians for Al Quds, which has 700 Members of Parliament from 70 countries, as of 2018. The Palestine-Malaysia friendship committee/caucus, he said, is led by Ledang Member of Parliament Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh. “The strength of the friendship caucus in Malaysia is that committee members (comprise) diverse (political) parties, religions and cultures. He said he hopes that the Palestine-Malaysia friendship caucus could work closely and convince Parliamentary unions around the world about the crucial role they can play in supporting the Palestinian cause.
