Share:ISLAMABAD - The opposition parties Wednesday warned the government against introducing a mini-budget in the National Assembly stating that it would be tantamount to surrendering economic sovereignty. With the clear message to make all out attempts to create hurdles in legislation of supplementary budget, the opposition did not hesitate to comment over the government’s intentions about nuclear assets. “Remove all doubts in your [Opposition] mind about any compromise on nuclear assets,” foreign minister assured the House, adding that the protection of economic sovereignty is the responsibility of the parliament. He called on lawmakers not to surrender the country’s economic sovereignty. He also did not hesitate to remark that the country’s nuclear assets could be the next target.
