CAIRO – 15 May 2021: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry received Saturday a phone call from Pakistani counterpart Shah Qureshi who expressed appreciation and support to the Egyptian efforts deployed to achieve a ceasefire between the Israelis and the Palestinians praising the country's diplomatic moves to attain that goal. The call also tackled ways of coordination between both countries in international and regional assemblies in general, and within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in particular. The solution has to be based on international legitimacy references by mainly establishing a Palestinian state having as capital Eastern Jerusalem. In the end, both ministers conferred over ways of reinforcing Egyptian-Pakistani relations in various fields in a way that fulfills the interests of both states. The Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA) announced Saturday the rise of deaths and injuries among Palestinians to 136 and 1,000, respectively.
