CAIRO – 15 May 2021: The Human Rights Committee at the Coordination Committee of Parties' Youth Leaders and Politicians (CPYP) denounces the silence of the international community about the crimes committed by the occupation forces in the Palestinian territories, and reiterates its condemnation of the Israeli occupation’s continuing crimes against civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories, which is a new link in the chain of the occupation's violations to the human rights law and treaties. The committee affirms that the international community, especially the United States of America and the western countries, flagrantly employ double standards in dealing with the situation, turning a blind eye to the war crimes committed in Gaza, while picturing the perpetrator (Israel) as the victim. The Human Rights Committee is following with great interest the developments of the situation in occupied Palestine, from the occupation authorities' attempts to displace the residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem, to storming the Al-Aqsa Mosque and bombing civilians in the Gaza Strip. The Human Rights Committee asserts hat the practices of the occupation authorities in the Palestinian territories are clear a violation of the provisions of the Fourth Geneva Convention and a violation of human rights that could amount to war crimes and ethnic cleansing against the Palestinians. The committee stresses that the Palestinian cause is the most important cause for Arabs, and without reaching a settlement that ensures that the Palestinian people obtain their full rights in accordance with the decisions of the international legitimacy, l peace and stability will never be established in the region.
