–COAS confers military awards to army personnelRAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday conferred military awards to army personnel for acts of gallantry during operations in an investiture ceremony held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. “The sacrifices of our martyrs will not go to waste,” he added. The army chief also lauded the brave families of the martyrs for the supreme sacrifices they rendered for the country. “No sacrifice is greater than life to protect and defend our beloved motherland,” Gen Bajwa said. Thirty-five Pakistan Army officers were awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military), 36 officers/soldiers were awarded Tamgha-e-Bisalat and seven soldiers were awarded the United Nations (UN) medal.
