Pakatan Harapan no longer marketable, says Gerakan Youth

KUALA LUMPUR: The decision by several opposition leaders to quit their respective parties proves that the Pakatan Harapan brand is no longer “marketable” to the public, said Gerakan Youth chief Tan Keng Liang today. Speaking during the opening of Gerakan Youth’s 29th National Delegates Conference today, Tan said the exodus from Pakatan Harapan recently was not unexpected, as the pact had failed to deliver on its promises. “The departures show that the people do not trust the brand name of ‘Pakatan Harapan.’ Those who left their parties are forced to get out of the pact to market themselves elsewhere. Joining Lajim were PKR Moyog assemblyman Terence Siambun, who is also the state party information chief, state party secretary Datuk Maijol Mahap and state party Wanita chief Johair Matlani. Several DAP leaders, including Likas assemblyman Junz Wong, state party deputy chairman Joan Goh, state vice-chairman George Hiew and state treasurer David William, also quit their party.
