LIPIS: A businessman was shot seven times while driving along Jalan Besar Kuala Medang-Sungai Koyan here at 10pm last night. The 55-year-old is believed to have been on his way home to Raub when he was accosted by a group of five men who shot him at close range. District police chief Superintendent Azry Akmar Ayob said the victim was driving a Toyota Hilux when he was attacked by the men, who were in a passing Proton Wira. It is understood that the victim was first brought to a clinic in Sungai Koyan by members of the public, and is currently warded at the Kuala Lipis Hospital. Azry said the matter is being investigated under Section 3 of the Firearms Act and Section 395/397 of the Penal Code.
