The Philippine Sepaktakraw Association, Inc. (PSTAI) will implement a home-based training program for its national athletes and coaches in compliance with the government’s safety measures against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19). PSTAI president Karen Claire Tanchanco-Caballero laid out the guidelines for the program called the “Home and Away Training” in a memorandum released on Monday. The program is comprised of strength and conditioning, preparatory stretching, cardio, abdominal exercises, agility, basic ball control through various body parts and cool down exercises. Training is five days a week and will be monitored online by the national and regional coaches via video call. “While sports would be taking backseat during the global pandemic, the PSTAI fully supports the overall welfare of our coaches, athletes, officials, clubs and stakeholders of our sport,” the national sports association said in a statement.
