Covid-19 transmission slows – expert – The Manila Times

The transmission rate of the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) has slowed and the mortality rate has gone down, an epidemiologist of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases’ (IATF-EID) technical working group said on Tuesday. “There is, indeed, a flattening of the curve,” said Dr. John Wong, working head of the IATF-EID’s data analytics expert group in an online press briefing. “We already saw that [the flattening of the curve] from 10 days ago in terms of cases and mortality,” he said. “But I don’t want to speculate yet if the peak has been reached.”As of Tuesday, the country had 9,684 Covid-19 cases. The blood plasma from patients who have recovered from Covid-19 are being used as part of the treatment for severe Covid-19 patients.
