MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police-Anti-Kidnapping Group (PNP-AKG) has a new acting director. Col. Jonnel Cabrillos Estomo will be heading the the unit effective Saturday (July 6), according to a document released by the PNP-AKG on Friday. ADVERTISEMENTEstomo was designated to the position upon the order of PNP chief Gen. Oscar Albayalde. Before he was assigned to the AKG, Estomo was chief of the Management Division of the PNP Directorate for Comptrollership, according to PNP spokesperson Col. Bernard Banac. As acting chief of the PNP-AKG, Estomo will lead the unit’s mission to conduct police operations and investigation on kidnapping-for-ransom incidents with the support of the community.
