ISLAMABAD: Pir Mehr Ali Shah (PMAS) Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi has been running without a regular Vice-Chancellor (VC) for a year now, Pakistan Today has learnt. It is pertinent to note here that the government is under an obligation to appoint a regular VC within one week. However, after the completion of his tenure on January 23, 2017, the government had to appoint a regular VC within one week, which it failed to do so. In November, interviews were held for the regular appointment of the university’s VC. During the hearing, the complainant’s counsel, Ahsan Bhoon, argued that the appointment process being followed is against the court’s orders and also different from the process followed in other universities.
