Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returns home in the morning on Saturday, wrapping up her three-week visit to the United States and United Kingdom. Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Nazmul Qaunine was set to see the prime minister off at the airport. Bangladesh Awami League will accord a mass reception to the prime minister and party president on her return from the USA. The prime minister then travelled to the US capital from New York on September 22, after attending the UN’s annual summit. But the date was deferred as the prime minister underwent a gallbladder surgery at a Washington hospital on September 25.
