January 26, 2021 by Lahiru Pothmulla No CommentsPrime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has instructed the relevant authorities to expedite the repatriation process of migrant workers who wish to return to the country, the Prime Minister’s Office said. The Prime Minster expressed these views during a meeting held at Temple Trees today. At the meeting, State Minister Priyanakara Jayaratne has said a large number of migrant workers are facing difficulties without being able to return to the country. The Prime Minister’s Office said about 32,000 expatriates have returned in the recent past while 22,483 more await repatriation.
