* Severe thunderstorm watch for western parts of the area until 10 p.m. *8:35 p.m. update: A line of showers and storms is starting to enter western parts of the area. The NWS has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of Loudoun and Frederick counties as well as places west of there. The area south of the warning has already shown some decrease lately, although the stronger storms may stay stronger longer. 5 p.m. update: Thunderstorms over the last couple of hours have developed out toward Interstate 81 and some have been severe with hail reported in Winchester. It may also end up that rain locally mostly focuses on western parts of the area given a slow eastward advance.
