BEIJING, China: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today visited Gu'an New Industry City, regarded as a leading model for urbanisation. Located 50km south of Beijing, the city is home to five strategic industry clusters - aerospace, biomedical, high-end equipment manufacturing, e-commerce and modern services industries. Najib and his delegation were given a briefing on the city's transformation from an agriculture area to an innovation-driven industry city. One of the highlights of Gu'an is the next generation AMOLED display technology, with the capacity to produce 70 million smartphone screens a year. Najib also visited the JD E-commerce Park - run by JD.com, China's equivalent of Amazon - where automated sorting machines handle 500,000 orders daily.
