Speaking at the inaugural ceremony on the Bangla Academy, Hasina expressed optimism that the Bangladesh literature will reach the global arena. After the ceremony, the prime minister toured the fair venue, visiting pavilions of several publishers. Publishers have offered a 25 percent discount for the annual book fair. Except for public holidays, the fair will remain open from 3pm to 8pm through February. On holidays, the fair will remain open from 11am to 8pm.
