Abdus Sobhan Sikder, Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Italy, and IFAD Vice-President Claudia Richard will greet her at the airport. Hasina’s four-day tour comes at the invitation of IFAD President Gilbert F Houngbo and Pope Francis, Foreign Affairs Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali had said. Hasina will start for Vatican City on Feb 12 where she is due to hold meetings with Pope Francis and Secretary of State Pietro Parolin. Last year on Nov 31, Pope Francis arrived in Bangladesh to see the plight of Rohingya refugees. Hasina will present the keynote paper at the inaugural ceremony of the IFAD governing council conference at IFAD headquarters on Feb 13.
