The incident occurred at the Rampur Road intersection around midnight on Saturday and halted traffic on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway for a short time, said Feni Additional Superintendent of Police Ukyo Singh Marma. The van was carrying foodstuff for Abul Khair Group from Chittagong to Dhaka, said covered van driver Mohammad Hossain. The fire service received word of the incident, went to the scene and put out the fire, said Feni Fire Service Senior Staff Officer Kabir Hossain. The front of the covered van was heavily damaged, but most of its cargo was intact. Police are investigating the matter and have impounded the vehicle, Officer Singh said.
