A Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft carrying the prime minister and her entourage left Menara International Airport in Marrakesh at 3:15pm local time (9pm BdST) on Wednesday. The prime minister reached Marrakesh on Monday to attend the 22nd Session of the Conference of the Parties (COP22) with heads of the government and the state of 79 countries. She also noted that Bangladesh was one of the first countries to sign and ratify the Paris Agreement on climate change that was enforced earlier this month. "Lives and livelihoods of millions of people would continue to be at risk unless we deliver to our commitments on climate change issues," Hasina said. Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, Environment and Forests Minister Anwar Hossain and Water Resources Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud, among others, accompanied the prime minister at the conference.
