Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina called on President Md Abdul Hamid at the Bangabhaban on Thursday evening. Hasina congratulated the president on being nominated for the president post for the second term, said Joynul. In reply, Hamid expressed his gratitude to Awami League Parliamentary Board chief Hasina for nominating him for the president post. On Wednesday night, the ruling party nominated incumbent President Hamid as its candidate to contest the presidential election. The nomination was finalised at a meeting of the Awami League Parliamentary Board held at the prime minister’s official residence, Ganobhaban, with Hasina in the chair.
