Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Thursday said the government has a plan to construct two more flyovers at Daur and Gabtoli points for reducing traffic gridlock in Dhaka. The government will develop Teromukh-Abdullahpur-Daur-Birulia-Gabtoli-Babubazar-Postogola-Fatullah-Chasara-Demra route under Dhaka Circular Route (part-2) surrounding the capital city and construct two flyovers at the Daur and Gabtoli points of the proposed route, he said. The minister said this while replying to a query placed by treasury bench member Nurjahan Begum of reserved seat 2 at in the parliament. The feasibility study and detail design of the flyovers are now underway, Obaidul said. But no flyover will be built in the city under Road Transport and Highway division, he mentioned.
