SHAH ALAM: The government plans to train at least 300,000 people from the Below 40 income group (B40) under its Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) programme by 2025. "Beside these, the number of specialists in TVET will be increased by another 4,000 by 2025," he said when launching TVET Transformation Programme at Advanced Technology Training Centre at Section 34, here yesterday. (pix by INTAN NUR ELLIANA ZAKARIA)Najib, who announced the rebranding of TVET programme to TVET Malaysia, said providing training through TVET institutions could help increase the people's income, especially those from the B40. "Of course, this group must be assisted by TVET institutions so that they can obtain skills training in relevant fields that are suitable with their abilities and interests. Najib also announced new initiatives to propel TVET transformation, including the development of a comprehensive TVET masterplan.
