PERMATANG PAUH: The Fire and Rescue Department has inspected half of the 349 registered religious schools in the state, and majority of them have met the necessary safety standards. More importantly, we want to prevent a recurrence of the fire at the Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah religious school which claimed 23 lives," he added. It was reported that the Fire and Rescue Department has set up a special task force in each state to carry out safety inspection on all religious schools, as ordered by the Cabinet recently.
