PLDT Inc. has signed a new six-year service agreement with US-based software and service provider Amdocs to advance its operations. “This agreement will further boost our efforts to enhance customer experience and engagement,” PLDT Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan was quoted as saying in the disclosure. “PLDT will be able to inject intelligence and automation into their entire operations, enabling them to become more efficient and take smart product and service decisions,” Amdocs Chief Marketing Officer was also quoted as saying. Pangilinan promised that PLDT would deliver a better digital experience to consumers following the deal, which came as the telco seeks to automate operations to lower operational costs and improve customer experience. In January, PLDT closed two technology-enabled deals with Amdocs and China’s Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. for $300 million and $28.5 million, respectively.
