THE reason for the bad odour coming from lakes in Taman Jaya and Taman Aman parks in Petaling Jaya has been identified. With little to no electricity supply to the aerators at both lakes, water has not been cleaned regularly, resulting in the foul stench. MBPJ Landscape Department said that electricity supply there had always been a problem and without enough power, the aerators were not able to function. “If there is not enough electricity supply, we have to fix the problem and increase the electricity input to both the parks,” said Petaling Jaya mayor Datuk Mohd Azizi Mohd Zain. On the transportation front, Petaling Jaya residents can expect a new free bus service from the city to KLIA2 next year.
