Share TweetBy Roy MabasaThe Philippines will implement a travel ban for those coming from the United Kingdom and Ireland as part of the government’s effort to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the country. According to the Embassy, the expanded travel ban will prevent individuals coming from countries with localized transmission of the virus from entering the Philippines, except for Filipino nationals and their dependents, holders of Philippine permanent residence visas, and Philippine diplomatic visas. “Those coming from the UK and Ireland will be affected by the travel ban,” it said. As of Thursday (March 12, 2020), a total of 590 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the United Kingdom with 10 deaths related to the virus.
